Quartz Sleeve
A transparent quartz sleeve encases the UV lamp, protecting it from direct contact with water while allowing UV light to pass through. Over time, mineral deposits can accumulate on the sleeve, reducing UV transmission. Regular cleaning or replacement of the sleeve is necessary to ensure effective disinfection.
Controller Unit
The controller regulates the electrical supply to the UV lamp, ensuring consistent UV output. Advanced controllers may include features such as lamp change reminders, system diagnostics, and alarm indicators for lamp or ballast failure.
Specialty Features
VIQUA's Specialty UV Systems are designed to meet specific application requirements. For instance, the S2Q-P/12VDC model operates on 12-volt DC power, making it ideal for off-grid applications with flow rates up to 3 gallons per minute. Other models, like the S2Q-OZ and S8Q-OZ, are ozone-producing UV systems suitable for applications requiring oxidation processes.
