Filters

Filters are a critical pre-treatment component in VIQUA UV water disinfection systems. Their primary role is to remove physical impurities such as sediment, rust, silt, and other suspended solids from the water before it passes through the UV chamber. By doing so, filters improve water clarity and ensure that UV light can effectively reach and deactivate harmful microorganisms.

  • Lamps

    Replacing the UV lamp in a VIQUA water disinfection system is a crucial part of system maintenance to ensure effective microbial protection. Although the lamp may continue to glow after extended use, its ability to produce germicidal UV-C light declines significantly after about 9,000 hours (approximately one year). Replacing the lamp on time guarantees continued safe and chemical-free water disinfection.

    A quartz sleeve is a transparent tube that surrounds the UV lamp in a VIQUA system, protecting it from direct contact with water while allowing germicidal UV-C light to pass through for effective disinfection. It should be cleaned regularly and replaced if cloudy or damaged to maintain system performance.
